Sandhills is the location of my bush property. It is remote enough that it feels like a real camping trip when we go there, but it is in reality within commuting distance to work if I ever decide to live out there.
Sandhills allows me to pursue my interests such as digital electronics (gas soldering irons are great when you are in the bush), amateur radio (nobody next-door to complain about big antennas), renewable energy, mechanical stuff (nothing like a bit of space to ride a MOPED), and even native tree propagation!
We even have native animals occupy nesting boxes that the kids and I have constructed and installed into trees. What could be better?

I've got equipment out there that monitors the (solar charged) battery system and temperature. This data is reported back via a 3G connection. See the technical section for more info about this stuff.
